A New Day – a Rose Tyler music video
To say that this video is emotional and bittersweet are gross understatements of just what a labor of love it really was to make. Some of you know the story behind it, others of you don't, but regardless of whether you know how I feel about it there really is a specific story in this video, of the AU-type nature. I don't go this route frequently, but when I do I like to think I put a lot of heart into it, to try and tell something a little different. It's a video about thinking you know what you want, and finding out that what you really wanted all along is something completely different.

With this video, the story follows a different path for the Doctor and Rose. Instead of the events of the end of season two (assuming there was no danger to Rose's life) and later on in season four, the Doctor willingly and by his own choice leaves Rose behind, in a place where she can't follow. Rose is heartbroken and can't imagine her life without him, but she has little to no choice and is forced to move on. She builds a life for herself, with her family and her friends, and later meets Donna Noble by chance. Donna tells Rose that she is traveling with the Doctor and can arrange for them to see each other (knowing, of course, how the Doctor has and always will feel about Rose), which Rose agrees to. From there, I'll leave the ending as a surprise.

I wouldn't have been able to do this without [info]katernater, [info]cryptictac, [info]selfandsoul, [info]khiq, [info]effulgent_girl and so many others who don't have journals here but were the most vital, wonderful support I could ever have dreamed of. This wouldn't have happened without you all, and I never would have known the bright, wonderful light of a new day if you hadn't been there with your friendship and warm hearts. This one is for you.

Music Video / From Both Sides Now  




From Both Sides Now - a House/Cuddy music video
This song has held a special place in my heart for a good while now, and this seemed like the best time to have at it, what with all of the gorgeous footage that the last few episodes had given us in particular. When I first began working on it, all I could think of as the storyline basis was Cuddy falling in love with House. And while that seems very simplistic and commonplace at first glance, it really was the true, honest thought that was in my mind the entire time I was working on this video.

I could go on about how much it means to me, but I think that would be redundant and the truth is I'd really rather have it just be watched and enjoyed for what it is. Because I let my feelings dictate the edit on this one, and that's always the best way to do these things.

Music Video / Traveling  




Traveling – a Doctor Who music video
The idea for this came to me today when I was at school, sitting in between classes and just listening to different music. Flying is one of the songs from the 2003 version of Peter Pan which is one of my favourite musical scores to this day. The song just brings to mind tie idea of imagination and of so many things being possible that wouldn't be if someone didn't believe they could fly.

This video follows the journeys of the Doctor, Rose Tyler, and Donna Noble, as both girls travel with the Doctor separately over time and then find their paths and lives crossing with one another, a coincidence and fate that results in the formation of their friendship. It's a very personal video to me not only because of the song and my love of it, but also because of two friendships in my own life which are special and dear to me. [info]katernater is without question the Donna to my Rose, and [info]selfandsoul knows that she's the Ten to my Rose in the roleplay and writing world. So this is, of course, dedicated to the both of them. Love to the both of you. ♥

Music Video / Lullaby for a Stormy Night

The concept here is different, something more artistic and what I think might be a change from what I've done before. I had the idea for this video to have the angle of Cuddy actually singing the song rather than moving through to the motion of the music itself, so I combined the two. Alice was such a sweet, innocent little character and I felt that was a very pivotal point for Cuddy in her want for a child and a different side of her that hadn't been seen up until then, but became present throughout the rest of the show so far. It, for lack of another term, made my heart swell.

What I didn't expect was House's role in this video, and I think that'll kind of show itself as it progresses. Needless to say, I'm very proud of this one.

I'm going to write more detailed video blogs and notations at my website on its blog, but for now I hope that you all enjoy this. Comments are always welcome.

[EDIT] I forgot to add the dedication which is sad because I was thinking about it all day! This one is for my darling [info]katernater who is the best friend a girl could ever hope for, and for [info]cryptictac who pushed me to do this even though I was afraid. ♥ I love you both so much.

Crush

As part of Kate's Christmas gift, I wrote her a crossover fic with Lisa Cuddy and Fox Mulder, what she declared would be her ultimate pairing. But I decided to take the gift one step further and make the pairing into a visual reality. This music video continues where the fic leaves off, and is in fact a crossover video between House M.D. and the X-Files. To say I'm a little bit proud of this would be an understatement. Credit for the manipulation of Cuddy and Mulder goes to [info]i_heart_cuddy - thank you so much!

This video is more of a character study for Lisa Cuddy, following the less than perfect moments in life and the ache that can come from them. It's about exploring the pain and seeing where you can go in life from it, about taking the good with the bad, and hoping someone will come to help you when you need it. When life gives you tears, put them to use and do something with them.

Music Video / So Close  
So Close

I had started this one a little while ago - maybe a month, I can't quite remember - and then put it to the side when I switched computers. Last night, it just felt like the right thing to do. I made this one with tears in my eyes and on my face, and a box of tissues emptying itself rapidly into my hands and then the trash can nearby. As it came together in front of me, I realized that it's not just a video about the good moments in relationships, but the moments which define them, in all of their shapes and colors - and that sometimes, if you're fortunate enough, you find people who are willing to stay by you even through the darker moments of life.

I got a wild urge to do this tonight. The concept is pretty straightforward - after the recent developments in their "relationship," House thinks of Cuddy when at home in front of his piano and writes a song for her that, chances are, he'll never tell her about. I had a lot of fun making it.
